Brookhaven Monument Company History Brookhaven Monument began operations in 1947 under the ownership of the Belton E. Different family, when Highway 51 was just a gravel road. The Different family crafted thousands of memorials for the people of Brookhaven and Lincoln County for 30 years. In 1977, the business was purchased by the Jeff D. Pace family. Dave Pace Dave Pace currently serves as owner and President of Brookhaven Monument Company Inc. Dave has been in the monument business all of his life. His father, the late Jeff D. Pace, was a well known Mississippi Memorialist, owning and operating several monument companies over the years throughout the state. Dave currently serves as Vice President of the Monument Builders of North America, and has twice been past president of the Mississippi Louisiana Monument Builders Association. He is also a member of the Brookhaven Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Industrial Development Foundation, Brookhaven Noon Lions Club, Boys Scouts of America, and First United Methodist Church. Lilann Pace Lilann Pace currently serves as Vice President of Brookhaven Monument Company. Lilann is the daughter of Charles and Lillian Hollingsworth and grew up in Natchez. She is a member of the Natchez Garden Club, Brookhaven Arts Council, Brookhaven Trust, Brookhaven Little Theatre, Willing Hearts Circle, Silver Cross Board, and is Vice President/Secretary of the United Methodist Women. Lilann has completed several courses in monument design and memorialization thru the Elberton Granite Training Institute. Kevin Laird Kevin Laird currently serves as Sales Manager and Memorialist for Brookhaven Monument Company. Kevin’s management experience, training, and knowledge of local area history enable him to provide families with the perfect memorial for their loved ones. Kevin is a member of the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, and has completed numerous courses relating to the monument industry thru Elberton Granite Training Institute. Linda Rogers Linda Rogers serves as our office manager and sales representative. She is responsible for the day to day office duties, and well as inventory and quality control. Her customer service background allows her to work well not only with our suppliers, but also the families we serve each day. Linda has completed several courses thru the Elberton Granite Training Institute.
Lara Williams Lara Williams is our draftsman and sales representative. She is responsible for the layouts of each monument as it is being crafted and sandblasted. Her knowledge of AutoCAD and Gerber Design programs enable her to provide the customer with a computer generated scale drawing prior to purchase, which usually helps with a final decision. She holds several certificates from the Elberton Granite Training Institute. Sharon Payn Sharon Payn serves as our accountant. Sharon handles all the financial responsibilities of the parent company and its three subsidiaries. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the AICPA. She is also employed with Patrick E. Lowery and Associates. Penny Shurden Penny Shurden is our artist. Penny is responsible for all of our customer artwork and etching. She has over 20 years experience in the monument industry and her portraits and etchings are done by hand and are well known throughout the area. She is able to provide families with a much more personal memorial using her ability to capture facial expressions and details that cannot be accomplished with sandblasting. |
